Trying to install Linux from USB flash drive on my HP Thin Client, I found a very nice program - UNetbootin allows completely without knowledge of such matters to prepare the installation disk with Linux.
The program allows you to select the distribution list and the substantial tightening the ISO image directly to prepare the USB drive for installation. It also allows you to prepare a version of the image held on the disk.
This significantly simplifies the installation of stations without CD or DVD without requiring the preparation of low-level penrdive'a.
Then you only need the machine boots from the disk.
